TIS Team Wins Top Prize at Random Hacks of Kindness
Austin, TX, June 4, 2012. The Tactical Information Systems development team was proud to attend Random Hacks of Kindness, a two-day event where volunteers create software/applications for organizations that lack the resources to create beneficial services. The team joined forces with a graphic artist and tackled a problem for Dell Children's Hospital. Currently, access to the various hospital rooms is restricted and a staff member must come to the door to allow parents into the wing to visit their children. Working for over 30 hours, the team built a prototype facial recognition system that could be attached to the door that would allow parents only into the specific wing for their child.
