AUSTIN, TX, January 26, 2011. Tactical Information Systems (TIS) announced today that it has been awarded a one-year contract from the Center for Defense Systems Research (CDSR) at The University of Texas at El Paso for “Assessment Study for Testing & Evaluation (T&E) of Biometric Systems Interoperability”. TIS will help identify gaps in current methods for testing and evaluating biometric systems across a broad range of agencies both at the federal, state and local level and including commercial companies and academic organizations. “We are pleased to extend our relationship with The University of Texas at El Paso and the CDSR,” said Dr. Alex Kilpatrick, co-founder of TIS. “This project will allow us to leverage our experience and expertise with DOD level biometric systems. Biometrics is a complex area, and there are many areas where we can help develop new approaches for testing and evaluation, providing fundamental improvements to the real-world performance of biometric systems.”
